Construction for the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Boone Hospital Center was completed in the early part of 2002. The new Family Room is approximately 1,200 square feet and includes a comfortable family room, stocked kitchenette, shower and restoroom facilities, as well as a privacy room. Guests to the Family Rooms are helped by caring volunteers who document room usage, greet guests, and stock cabinets from the on-site pantry. These special volunteers must also be comfortable lending an empathetic ear to guest families who choose to share their stories. Family Room volunteers are asked to fill one four-hour shift per week. Day, evening, and weekend shifts are available.

| The privacy room gives families a quiet place to be by themselves. In an emergency, this area can be converted into a sleeping room. |

| Something as simple as taking a shower can help people feel a great deal better. Toiletries, fresh towels and washcloths are kept on-site for families to use. |

| Families are provided with several comfortable semi-private seating areas. |
