The volunteer program at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri is vital and ever-changing! Volunteers perform a variety of tasks for the organization and guest families while assisting the staff. A list of volunteer opportunitities are below while special opportunities can be found here. House Assistant - Serve as House support while helping to maintain a friendly and home-like atmosphere at the Ronald McDonald House. Specific duties include answering phones, welcoming & assisting guests and families, preparing guest rooms, daily house tasks and/or office assistance. Duties may also include cooking and baking, running errands, gardening, and light maintenance work.

Family Meal Providers - Providers are asked to have the meal ready to serve by 6 p.m. and provide food for approximately 15 people. Family meals are available for "adoption" seven days a week. Use our online calendar to find open days in need of adoption.

Group Opportunities - Volunteer groups are also welcome to assist us with a variety of tasks throughout the organization. Some of these projects include large-scale cleaning efforts and house repairs. Due to the size of our House, groups need to be limited to a small number, preferably 10 or less. Family Room Assistant - Serve as a host or hostess while helping to maintain a friendly and home-like atmosphere in the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at Boone Hospital and University Hospital. Specific duties include welcoming families, documenting guest usage, stocking supplies, tidying up the Family Room and lending a sympathetic ear to families in crisis. This position requires a weekly 3-4 hour commitment.
